Phishing attacks: how scammers get your data

Phishing is a common form of Internet fraud in which attackers pose as trusted sources to extract confidential data. Various types of phishing are described, including mass spam phishing, spear phishing, and whaling against top managers, as well as methods of delivering attacks via email, instant messaging, and voice calls (vishing). The main defense against phishing is vigilance: always check the sender, do not click on suspicious links, and do not provide personal information when requested.
