How Russia’s FSB Is Structured

The FSB is a massive structure made up of dozens of divisions. Thousands of officers hunt for “traitors” and “saboteurs.” Others are responsible for provocations and assassinations. Some even profit from the war and have little interest in seeing it end anytime soon. At the same time, many departments have overlapping areas of responsibility, and the same individuals may act in the interests of different directorates.
